Arsenal’s Noni Madueke will unfortunately be absent from the pitch for approximately six to eight weeks due to a knee injury sustained in the clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
Although there were concerns that the 23-year-old may have suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury, sources have indicated that this is not the case.
Currently, medical professionals are waiting for the swelling to subside before providing a definitive diagnosis, but it is believed that Madueke will be out of action for a minimum of six weeks.
This news is a significant setback for both Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and England head coach Thomas Tuchel, as Madueke has had an impressive start to the season.
If the initial prognosis is accurate, Madueke will miss crucial domestic and European fixtures for the Gunners and may also be absent from England’s upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia.

It is expected that Madueke could potentially return to the pitch for the highly anticipated north London derby against Tottenham on 23 November, pending his recovery.
However, the 23-year-old England international is not believed to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The summer signing from Chelsea was substituted at half-time of the Premier League match with City and has been undergoing tests to discover the severity of the problem.
Sources are indicating medics are waiting for the swelling to subside before making a definitive diagnosis on the injury, but it is understood that Madueke will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks, though that timescale is thought to be the best-case scenario.
