The military and Vigilante groups on Wednesday morning said they engaged in a gun battle with kidnappers on the Benin-Auchi road
The shoot-out affected movement on the busy road as vehicles movement were halted.
Kidnap activities on the Benin-Auchi road have taken a worrying turn in the last two years.
Last month, five kidnap victims were rescued by security operatives at Okwo Ogbemudia farm, Uhunmwonde local government of the state, on the Benin-Auchi road while six others were rescued at Ekpoma, in Esan West local government of the state respectively.

It was learnt that one of the kidnappers was killed in a gun battle with the police during the rescue operation at the Okwo Ogbemudia farm.
