The Archbishop of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, Most Rev. Goddowell Avwomakpa, has presented cars and approved educational scholarships for church leaders and members, underscoring his commitment to rewarding dedication and promoting education within the ministry.
The presentation took place during the General Council meeting of the church, held from January 8 to 10, 2026, at the church’s headquarters. The gathering attracted ministers and delegates from various branches, marking one of the church’s most significant assemblies in recent times.
Pastor ThankGod Nuwhele, the Secretary General of the church, and Rev. Racheal, the Personal Secretary to the Archbishop, were the recipients of the cars and scholarships. They were praised for their loyalty, steadfast commitment and consistent contributions to the administration and growth of the church. As part of the gesture, scholarships were also awarded to their children, reflecting the church’s welfare-driven approach to leadership support.
Addressing the council, Archbishop Avwomakpa said recognising faithfulness and diligence in ministry was both biblical and necessary. He noted that honouring those who labour sacrificially in God’s vineyard not only shows appreciation but also inspires others to serve with integrity and devotion.

Beyond the individual awards, the General Council approved the extension of scholarship support to other church members enrolled in tertiary institutions. The decision reaffirmed the church’s focus on education, capacity building and long-term human development among its members.
Another major highlight of the council was the ordination of Deacon Sylvester of the Obiaruku branch as a Pastor. A serving police officer, Sylvester was ordained in recognition of his exemplary conduct, meritorious service and positive testimonies in both his professional career and church responsibilities.
The three-day General Council featured intensive prayers, strategic deliberations on church growth, welfare programmes and future planning. Church leaders and delegates expressed gratitude for the steady progress of the ministry and renewed their commitment to its spiritual mission and social impact.
