Chairman of Isoko Positive Agenda (IPA) Chief John Araka, has been re-elected for another two years. It was at the 2022 Annual General Meeting lecture of the club.

On the occasion, High Chief Eta Enahoro, Engineer Daniel Omoyibo and Chief Greg Edor received awards of excellence.

The theme of the event held at Isoko Unity House, Oleh, Delta State, was, “Isoko Political Evolution and Trends. “

The club elected other executive members namely, Evang. (Dr.) Ken Ewero (vice-chairman), Sir (Dr.) Prosper Irogbo (secretary) , Sir (Dr.) Steve Itimi (assistant secretary) , Hon. (Mrs.) Pally Eghove (financial secretary) and Chief Ufuoma Ekperare (Public Relations Officer). Others are Dr. (Barr.) Mrs. Evelyn Aluta (legal adviser) , Chief (Hon. ) Mrs. Beatrice Oyibotha (treasurer), Chief Karo Ilolo (Provost) and Chief Cleaver Uzezi Daniels (organising secretary) .

Araka commended members of the club for their persistent financial commitment, especially Eta Enahoro and Greg Edor, for huge support.

Araka stated that the major reason which informed the founding of the club was to promote and protect the interests of Isoko nation. He enumerated some of the achievements to include, increase of members from 25 to 40 as well as restoration of peace to some Isoko communities that were on the verge of war through interpersonal contacts with opinion leaders and stakeholders, The Trumpet gathered.

He said the club has purchased four plots of land, promoted Isoko culture and peace, through the mass media and defended the ethnic nationality’s vital interests at the state level.

Araka noted that the club got a new constitution just as it recognised the excellent contribution of three prominent illustrious sons of Isoko and presented awards d to them.

The event also featured the 2022 special remarks by Profes sor Chris Akpotu, PresidentGeneral Isoko Development Union (IDU); Barrister Chief Joe Arausi, Board Chairman, Ogwashukwu Polytechnic; Chief Ovuozorie Macualey, Director-General, Effurun/ Uvwie Development Agency and High Chief Eta Enahoro, MD and Chief Executive Officer, Skyward Limited.

The speakers ex-rayed the Isoko political evolution and trends and urged politicians to be messengers and not super leaders to the people.

They emphasized that to be desperate in representing the people indicates ulterior motives, noting that the electorate know who to represent them and should be allowed to choose without imposition.

They urged political gladiators to be objective and allow peace to reign and come back to give account of their stewardship to the people they represent towards equitable development of the Isoko nation. Earlier, IPA members held an interactive session to forge the way forward.
