The All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward 8 Executive Committee in Ethiope West Local Government Area has announced the indefinite suspension of several party members, including top officials, over allegations of creating divisions within the party.
According to a letter dated October 3, 2025, and addressed to the State Chairman, Delta Central Chairman, and the Ethiope West Local Government Area Chairman, the suspended members have been found guilty of multiple offenses deemed detrimental to party unity.
The suspended individuals include Hon. Philomena Ededdy, Hon. Godstime Eyowhara, Hon. Benjamin Oboh, and Hon. Ejimiyoma Felix. Additionally, Hon. Efe Amughoro, Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area (LGA), and Hon. Andrew Eyunen, Vice Chairman, have been suspended and replaced by Comr. Okey Erukayenure as chairman and Mr. Arthur Okeh as vice chairman respectively.
Also suspended indefinitely are Chief Ighoyota Amori and Hon. Christian Onogba, who allegedly had not attended ward meetings or general APC meetings but illegally convened a meeting that led to the purported removal and replacement of the LGA leadership.
The Ward 8 Executive Committee listed several serious infractions:
– Disloyalty: Acting against party interests and undermining unity
– Factions: Engaging in activities that disrupt party cohesion and objectives
– Breach of Conduct: Violating party rules and codes promoting unity and collaboration
– Sabotage: Intentionally hindering party efforts and damaging its reputation
– Insubordination: Disregarding the authority and decisions of party leadership

An emergency meeting of the Ward 2 executives was held on October 2, 2025, at the residence of Hon. Happy Wasami, where the following motions were unanimously adopted:
1. Chief Ighoyota Amori is suspended from the party indefinitely
2. Hon. Christian Onogba is suspended from the party indefinitely
3. A vote of no confidence was passed on Chief Paulinus Akpeki
The letter, signed by 23 out of 27 ward executives including Chairman Agunu Robert and Secretary Amos O. Peace, emphasized that the actions of the suspended members undermined internal democracy principles and violated the APC constitution.
The document characterized the alleged illegal suspension and replacement of LGA leadership as “an act of causing chaos and disunity which is tantamount to the progress of the party.”
Copies of the suspension letters were sent to various party officials including the Ward 2 APC Leader, the EWLGA Chairman, the Central Chairman, and the State Chairman and was also obtained by The Trumpet Newspaper.
