The delegation will formally present a letter from President Tinubu to the Acting Head of the Vatican, expressing heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the Catholic Church during this period of mourning.
In a tribute, President Tinubu expressed his sorrow over Pope Francis’s passing, describing him as “a humble servant of God, a tireless champion of the poor, and a guiding light for millions.”
He reflected on the timing of the Pope’s death, highlighting that it follows the celebration of Christ’s resurrection, symbolizing a sacred return to his Maker amid a season of renewed hope for Christians worldwide.
