All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential aspirant, Senator Godswill Akpabio, was on Thursday, described by Minister Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs and former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume, as a “huge asset waiting to be exploited for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“When he talks about being a detribalised Nigerian, it is not a vain glory thing. We all see it in you. We pray for you because we know you can do it. We pray for you because you are in the right place and with the right people. We pray for you because we want Nigeria to be on the march again”, he stressed.

Akume further said “ I will do whatever I can, to convince others to support your aspiration for the benefit of the people of this country. Your experience in public offices over the years is something we can always celebrate. You are a great Nigerian and leader in whom Nigerians have absolute trust “.

Akume stated this while receiving the members of the Godswill Akpabio Campaign Organisation, who visited to intimate him of Akpabio’s presidential ambition and to also solicit his support and those of the delegates, in the upcoming presidential primaries of the party.

According to the former Benue State helmsman,” it is my honour and privilege to welcome the uncommon presidential aspirant and his team to my residence because everything he does is uncommon. When he defected to the APC, he called it an uncommon defection. You needed to see the tsunami in the stadium on that day”.

He stated further that “as a former Governor of Akwa Ibom, you would wonder about where he got the intellect, the capability and the strength to do all what he did as their governor. He performed creditably well. I’ve known him for many years now, we have collaborated and worked closely.

Anybody who has been to Akwa Ibom before him and after him can tell the difference.” Akume said, “I see in you a huge asset, waiting to be exploited for the benefit of our country.

We meet often and talk about Nigeria. Sometimes we say, those of us who are in the minority in this country are the glue for the continued unity of this country.” On Akpabio’s three-point Minister said, “when he talks about security, it is good to listen to him.

I know what President Muhamadu Buhari, has done since he came into office. Akpabio, as president, will do more with his plans to deploy technology into fighting the menace”.

“Without Unity, there can be no country we will call our own. I know you and your antecedents in the area of insecurity. As regards your plans to improve the economy through agriculture, let us not forget that when we came in, the economy was in shambles.

The current administration has done a lot in terms of revamping the economy. We trust that the Uncommon President will set things straight.” Earlier in his speech, Presidential hopeful, Senator Akpabio, intimated Akume of his three-point agenda of fighting insecurity, uniting the country through national integration and education and improving the economy through agriculture.
