Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Akwa North West senatorial district Chief Godswill Akpabio has pleaded with his kinsmen to forgive and vote him for senate in February general election.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday after Thanksgiving Service at Catholic Church in Ukana for the victory at the Supreme Court, Akpabio said the achievements he recorded in Niger Delta Ministry should melt the heart of his opponent to return him to the Red Chambers.

The immediate past Niger Delta Affairs Minister who arrived the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo was welcomed by a mammoth crowd of supporters said he is expecting a change of heart from his opponent.

He insisted that he won the 2019 Senatorial election but was betrayed and robbed of victory by persons close to him, referring to his betrayers as “Judases”.

He said, “The victory was very fertile for the APC in 2019 until a lot of brothers of Joseph decided to sell Joseph to Egypt and then this time around what we are praying to God is that those brothers who sold Joseph to Egypt should no longer do so.

“Joseph has gone to Egypt, he has brought laurels, he has completed the NDDC office, he has built barracks, he has built hospitals, he has done so much in the Niger Delta region, he completed the forensic audit and positioned the NDDC for effectiveness.

“Joseph is back now. Allow Joseph to ascend the seat so that Joseph can continue to offer services to the system and the people of the Senatorial district. So I think we are not going to have a lot of Judases again. It was an implosion, not an explosion”.

Akpabio, however, said that he has forgiven all those who betrayed him and urged them to join hands to work for the victory of all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

“So what I think is that this time around all hands must be on deck and that is why the priest asked that I should stand up and shout that I have forgiven you.

Already I am a man that is known for instant forgiveness. And I say that all those who betrayed me, I have forgiven you. Come back home and I will accept you. Where I also offended you please forgive me so that there will be Comradeship and brotherliness with love. Where there is love there will be cooperation and progress”, he said.
