The air component of ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ has carried out a precision airstrike on a suspected terrorist enclave and logistics hub in Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents and destroying key operational assets.

The strike, conducted on April 11, targeted a known base near the abandoned village of Jilli in Gubio Local Government Area of the state.

The operation followed weeks of intensive intelligence gathering and aerial surveillance along the Bindul–Jilli corridor, a route long identified as a major movement channel for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.

Military authorities said the operation was based on sustained intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, which detected unusual movements of motorcycles and gun trucks converging at the target location.

These observations were further confirmed by credible human intelligence sources, indicating the presence of terrorists, logistics handlers, and collaborators preparing for coordinated attacks.

Following confirmation, air assets executed a series of precision strikes, with surveillance platforms maintaining real-time monitoring for battle damage assessment.

According to the military, the strike achieved high accuracy, destroying the identified logistics hub and significantly degrading the operational capacity of the террорист group.

Several vehicles and equipment were destroyed, while surviving fighters were seen fleeing the area.

Intelligence reports suggest the group was in the final stages of receiving supplies intended for imminent attacks on military positions in the Gubio axis.

The development comes amid heightened military operations in the region following recent террорист incidents, including attacks in Ngamdu and Benisheikh.

In a related development, troops arrested a suspected logistics courier identified as “Turja Bulu” in Ngamdu on April 12.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly participated in a recent attack on a military formation in Benisheikh and had been dispatched from Jilli to deliver supplies to other elements operating within the Magumeri–Gubio area.

‘Operation Hadin Kai’ reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on террорист groups, disrupting their supply chains, and denying them freedom of movement across the North East.

The military also reiterated the ongoing ban on motorcycle use in parts of Borno State and Yobe State, citing their continued use by insurgents for mobility and attacks.
