The wrangling in the Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has again taken a different dimension, as the party faulted Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani for single-handedly producing the state presidential campaign council list.
Since the party’s governorship primary that produced Aishatu as its guber candidate, the party, as observed by The Trumpet has known no peace.
The state chapter of the party has also been embroiled in considerable tension following a court verdict which voided its participation in the 2023 governorship contest.
At the time of filing this report, our correspondent gathered that the party has no governorship candidate in the state.
In a statement signed by the acting chairman of the party Samaila Tadawus and made available to media practitioners on Wednesday, in Yola the state capital, the party rejected the list due to the failure of Binani who is the state coordinator of the PCC to consult any stakeholder.
According to the statement “the All APC Adamawa State chapter surprisingly stumbled on a list of purported state presidential campaign council members in circulation in the social media and some national dailies dated 31st October 2022 as public announcement.
“The said list” as made known by the aggrieved members of the party “emanated from Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani as Adamawa State coordinator who single-handedly generated the list without consulting the party at both state and local governments level for necessary inputs and final approval.”

Wondering why she has decided to two such path “on enquiry by the party” according to the acting chairman “it was also confirmed that our members of the national assembly, state assembly, candidates and critical stakeholders were not consulted either.”
Stressing that “It will be recalled that the national presidential campaign council contacted the party at the national level for necessary input and final approval before the campaign secretariat released the list” he said “the national campaign secretariat did not confer any right on any state coordinator to bypass the party and act unilaterally.”
Rejecting the list, the party, as affirmed by him “has noted the various complaints from stakeholders who have been deliberately committed and assure everybody that there will be a meeting of the party exco, local government party chairmen, candidates and stakeholders on Friday 4th November 2022 at Muna Hotel for proper consultations.
A comprehensive list of the state presidential campaign council members, he said, will be released after the forthcoming meeting of the state executive.
