The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has expressed the commitment of the FCT Administration to provide top-notch welfare services for hajj pilgrims.
Dr. Mahmoud made this promise during a meeting with Mallam Kadiri Edah, the Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, who presented three certificates of recognition for their 2025 hajj operations.
The awards were given by the Independent Hajj Reporters, a non-profit organization that monitors hajj activities.
The minister said the awards highlight the efforts made by her administration to offer the best possible services to pilgrims participating in the hajj each year.
She noted that significant reforms have been implemented to ensure that Nigerian pilgrims receive good value for their money and are satisfied with the services they receive.
Dr. Mahmoud also stated that the FCT Administration would continue to back the pilgrims board and other relevant departments as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda set by President Bola Tinubu.
She revealed plans to introduce new strategies aimed at achieving even more awards for excellence in future Hajj operations through improved services.

In his address while presenting the awards to the minister, Mallam Kadiri Edah emphasized that the accolades were a reflection of the strong support from the FCT Administration throughout the 2025 hajj.
He noted that, despite various challenges, the Board managed to conduct a very successful Hajj program this year.
During the event, three board staff members were honored for their exceptional contributions to the success of the hajj exercise.
Mallam Kadiri Edah received the award for the Best Service-Oriented Pilgrims’ Board Executive, while the Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Lawal Aliyu, and the Head of the ICT unit, Na’Allah Ado, were recognized for their dedicated service during the Hajj.
