Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Rep. Abubakar Bichi, has declared that Federal Government projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are equitably distributed across Nigeria, dismissing claims of regional bias.
Speaking to journalists in Kano on Thursday, the lawmaker representing Bichi Federal Constituency said Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated fairness in the allocation of resources, ensuring every region benefits from the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Projects are not concentrated in one section of the country. Every region is getting its fair share, in line with the President’s vision of inclusive development,” Bichi affirmed.
According to him, the interventions are a clear indication of Tinubu’s commitment to national unity and balanced growth. He added that the 10th National Assembly would continue its oversight role to guarantee that no community is left behind.
Bichi urged Nigerians to remain patient with ongoing reforms, assuring that the dividends of government policies would soon reflect in improved welfare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities across the country.
Citing examples from Kano, Bichi revealed that the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) was allocated N26 billion in the 2025 budget for massive upgrades, including a modern accident and emergency unit, heart surgery equipment, stroke and radiology centres, transplant facilities, and a family medicine complex. “This is the first time in the hospital’s history that it will receive such a huge allocation,” he noted.

On power supply to critical institutions, the lawmaker explained that several hospitals across Nigeria spend up to N200 million monthly on electricity to keep vital units such as ICUs, dialysis centres, theatres, and radiology departments running. Following consultations, Tinubu approved solar power allocations for medical and educational institutions nationwide.
In Kano, AKTH will receive 6MW to 7MW of solar power, Bayero University Kano will get 5MW to 6MW, Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital will be allocated 2MW, while Hasiya Bayero Specialist Hospital will benefit from 1MW despite being state-owned due to high patient traffic.
Bichi commended the Chief Medical Director of AKTH, Prof. Abdulrahman Sheshe, for his persistence, as well as the Minister of Science and Technology and the Energy Commission for their technical support. He also applauded his colleagues in the National Assembly for backing the initiative, stressing that it would not have materialized without their approval.
“The President has shown love for every part of Nigeria, and this intervention proves that the North is not left behind,” he concluded.
