The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five male children believed to have been abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, and transported unlawfully to Mubi.
In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, the rescue operation was carried out on September 13, 2025, after the police received credible intelligence.
Acting on the information, the Area Commander in Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, led a surveillance team that intercepted the children as they wandered the streets of Mubi.
The rescued children have been identified as, Adamu Musa (16), Suleiman Idris (10), Suleiman Mohammed (11), Dauda Yahaya (11), Mohammed Alhassan (11)
All five are said to be residents of the Gwange area in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the children were taken from Maiduguri by a suspect identified as Aliga Suleiman, a resident of Sabon Layi, Gwange. The suspect is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case for further investigation.
Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commended the Mubi Area Command for the swift and effective response. He also directed that all necessary steps be taken to reunite the children with their families and bring the suspect to justice.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State.
