Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has accused top party officials of plotting to manipulate the forthcoming PDP congresses in Lagos State.
In a letter to PDP National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, George alleged that the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, was hijacking the distribution of nomination forms ahead of the congresses. According to him, Koshoedo’s actions sidelined local leaders who had been working to secure peace and consensus within the Lagos PDP.
George warned that the development could spark a fresh wave of internal crises if not urgently addressed. He accused Koshoedo of adopting a disruptive style that could throw the party into chaos and even lead to legal battles. “We won’t let this happen again in Lagos,” George declared, insisting that fairness and transparency must guide the congresses.

He further criticized the exclusion of senior PDP leaders who, in his view, should play central roles in the process. Pointing to the party’s dismal performance in the last general elections, George blamed the outcome on selfishness and greed within the ranks, warning that the same mistakes must not be repeated.
“The public is watching closely,” he cautioned, stressing that the Lagos PDP must restore integrity in its internal contests to avoid further damage to its credibility. He assured that the state chapter remains committed to ensuring nomination forms are shared fairly among aspirants.
The PDP is preparing for its National Convention slated for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, where new party executives are expected to emerge at different levels. George’s allegations have already stirred debate among party members and could heighten tensions as the congress dates draw closer.
