Residents of Calabar, the Cross River State capital, have complained about the rising cases of dumped corpses.
They expressed worry that the activities of criminals in Calabar were rising and endangering lives and property.
In the last two weeks, three corpses of young men whose identities remain unknown and are believed to be victims of jungle justice have been found in different parts of Calabar.
On Wednesday morning, another lifeless body was found at the Mbukpa-Eyo Ita axis in Calabar South Local Government Area.
A second decomposing corpse was found around the Marian axis of the metropolis last week, while the third body was found at the gate of the state headquarters of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) early in the week.
Eyewitnesses said the bodies may be those of suspected thieves who were lynched.

The lifeless body at Mbukpa, in Calabar South, is still lying without any attention from the authorities, thus raising serious concerns about the health of residents
Meanwhile, some residents explained that the rising cases of dumped corpses may also be linked to the alleged criminal activities of scavengers.
“These so-called scavengers are reported to have terrorized homes by carting away electric wires, soup pots, aluminum cans, metals, including household items,” Mr. Ubon Ukpong, a youth leader, said.
When contacted, the Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, said the command has cautioned the public against taking the law into their hands.
“We don’t encourage jungle justice in any way. Suspects must always be handed over to police authorities for legal reprimand,” she said.
