Operatives of the police attached to the Ughelli Area Command have apprehended a woman simply identified as Isioma, alleged to be dealing in hard drugs at Afiesere, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The arrest followed weeks of intelligence gathering by security agents.
The suspect, whose identity has been withheld, was picked up in her shop located directly opposite a major point-of-sale outlet in the community.
Community sources said the woman had repeatedly ignored warnings to desist from the illegal trade, allegedly banking on her influence as the wife of a titled chief.
“She felt untouchable because of her marriage ties, but this time the law caught up with her,” one source explained.

Although the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, could not be reached as of press time, a senior police source confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody at the Ughelli Area Command, where she is being interrogated.
