Former Senator Kabiru Marafa has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that the party has betrayed its members and is divided internally.
Speaking to his supporters, Marafa explained that he made this decision after talking with many people over the last few days. He believes the APC has not been serving its members well, both in Zamfara State and across Nigeria.
“I want to share with my supporters in Zamfara, the North, and all of Nigeria that after discussing political issues over the past two years, we feel it’s important to let the public know that the APC has let us down in Zamfara and beyond,” he said.
Marafa accused the party of becoming more divided since Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni took over as the caretaker chairman. He claimed that no real effort has been made to bring the party members back together since then.

“In Zamfara, the situation is worse than ever. Since Bala Buni took charge from former Governor Matawalle, there hasn’t been a single meeting. The party is split in two: one side supports Bala Buni, while the other backs Matawalle. We have been waiting for over two and a half years for them to sort out their differences, but nothing has changed,” he added.
Marafa, who previously represented Zamfara Central as a senator, has been vocal about his concerns regarding the party’s problems for some time. His resignation highlights the growing frustration among other party members in the state.
