Ahead of the local government election scheduled for Saturday in Rivers State, the state police command has ordered restriction on human and vehicular movement across the state, except those on essential duties.
A statement released on Thursday by the spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the restriction will be from 12:00am to 6:00pm on August 30, 2025.
The police command urged citizens to cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and hitch-free electoral process, as the police are committed to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the elections.
