The Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) has issued a warning to the Taraba State government and security agencies over what it describes as credible intelligence pointing to imminent, large-scale, and coordinated terrorist attacks in Southern Taraba.
At a world press conference held on Saturday in Jalingo, KYN National President, Emmanuel Ukwen, disclosed that heavily armed attackers have been fully mobilized and are planning assaults on several communities across Ussa, Takum, Kurmi Local Government Areas, and the Yangtu Special Development Area.
“This region has witnessed repeated, targeted violence against Kuteb communities.
“Most recently, on August 21, 2025, an attack near the Tati axis claimed the lives of three people,” Ukwen stated.
The group released a list of communities identified as potential targets, including Ambiya, Tukwog, Muji 1 and 2, Basang, Acha Sarka, Tati, Sabon Gida Kuteb, Kwesati, Kumbu, and Kpambo Puri, among many others spread across the affected areas.

KYN alleged that the suspected attackers are not indigenous to the region, but have been infiltrating through porous border routes, particularly via Basang in Takum.
The group added that the armed elements are also responsible for the destruction of farmlands and displacement of rural farming communities in villages such as Tamiya, Bika Lupwe, Jenuwa Nyifiye, and Ribasi.
In light of the escalating threat, the group called on the authorities to urgently deploy security personnel to vulnerable communities.
It also advocated for enhanced surveillance, improved intelligence-sharing, and active support for local vigilante groups and community-based defense initiatives.
Swift government intervention, KYN emphasized, is crucial to preventing further violence and loss of life.
KYN further urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security operatives, and promptly report any suspicious activity as tensions in the region continue to mount.
As of the time this report was filed, there has been no official response from either the Taraba State government or national security agencies regarding the alert.
