The Benue State House of Assembly on Friday suspended four members for allegedly plotting to impeach the Speaker, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh.
The suspended lawmakers are Alfred Aondoaver (Makurdi North), Shimawua Emmanuel (Vandeikya II), Cyril Ikong (Oju II), and Abu Umoru James (Apa).
It was gathered that the legislators were accused of convening a clandestine meeting at the Benue Government House with the alleged intent of removing the Speaker from office.
Moving the motion for their suspension, the Majority Leader, Hon. Saater Tiseer, said the affected members were working to destabilise the Assembly despite a recent vote of confidence passed in both the Speaker and Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The motion was adopted during plenary presided over by the Speaker, leading to the suspension of the four lawmakers for six months.
