Rahaman Ali, the younger brother of boxing icon, Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of 82.
The Muhammad Ali Center announced his passing on Saturday, stating that he had died the day before.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, and the center indicated that funeral arrangements will be shared later.
A representative from Muhammad Ali’s Center was contacted but they did not provide additional details.
Rahaman pursued a professional boxing career from 1964 to 1972, following in his brother’s footsteps.
The Muhammad Ali Center referred to Rahaman as “his brother’s biggest supporter.” He authored two books about the legendary boxer:

“That’s Muhammad Ali’s Brother, My Life on the Undercard,” published in 2014, and “My Brother, Muhammad Ali – The Definitive Biography,” released in 2019.
Hana, Muhammad’s daughter, shared a selfie with her uncle along with a heartfelt tribute, describing him as a “sweet, gentle soul with a heart as big as the world” and highlighting his “extraordinary” bond with her father.
Laila Ali also expressed her sentiments, stating: “My father loved his brother Rahaman so deeply.
“They are now reunited with their beloved parents. May they all rest in eternal peace together.”
Muhammad Ali passed away in 2016 due to respiratory complications in a hospital near Phoenix.
