The two officials, clearly pleased with the impressive performances of the Nigerian team, quickly revealed the financial incentives to uplift the athletes’ spirits.
Dikko commended the athletes’ commitment and highlighted the significance of immediate motivation:
He stated that “just look at how our athletes are performing in this championship; their commitment and dedication are evident, and we will continue to provide our athletes with every reason to compete for our great country.

“We will reward them for every medal they secure at this championship, and I also want to take this opportunity to challenge them to keep making the country proud.”
Additionally, Olopade praised Team Nigeria’s efforts and stressed the importance of athlete welfare:
“We must always take care of our athletes, and when we do, they will reciprocate by winning medals, as we are currently witnessing at this championship.
“We are indeed preparing these young athletes for the future, including the upcoming Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” he said.
Officials from the athletics federation noted that with this timely incentive, the NSC is reaffirming its commitment to developing young talent and enhancing Nigeria’s performance on the international athletics stage.
