Gangsters, A new mode of attacking innocent residents by daredevil criminals across the Lagos State metropolis has been introduced by the men of the underworld.
They now organize fake night parties only to stage heavy fights among themselves, thereby causing panic in the streets within the area where the parties are organized to enable them to rob from house to house.
The fresh strategy was exposed to The Trumpet by a 15-man gang of criminals arrested by m operatives attached to the Tolu Divisional Headquarters of the Lagos State Police Command.
According to the leader of the gang who gave his name Milla Sunday, the fights are meant to put fear among residents to abandon their shops and make it easy for break-and-entry.
The Tolu area, an Ajegunle suburb of Lagos, is considered of the most notorious places in Lagos State over the years based on statistics from the police command, according to situation reports or records.
It was based on the spate of robberies in the area that prompted a former Lagos State Police Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu (a retired AIG) to deploy Obong Etuk, a Chief Supritendent of Police (CSP) to move swiftly and sanitize the area and get all the criminals out of their hideouts, The Trumpet gathered.
This move had been paying off as community leaders in the area have thanked the DPO and his men for a job well done while urging them not to relax in their effort to rid Ajegunle off criminals.

Speaking to The Trumpet at the station, Inspector Omoh Anthony who is also the Station Officer (SO), Tolu Police Division, said: “these boys have been unleashing terror in this area for the past years until we got a new DPO who on assumption of office introduced a new approach to tackle criminals and since it has been positive results all the way.
We always arrest and hand them over to the Lagos State Task Force to continue investigation. I told them the game has changed as it will no longer business as usual because we have new sheriffs in town.”
