The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), Nigeria, has condemned the recent United States bombing of Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities.
The organization who labelled the action as “illegal,” “unprovoked,” and “unjustifiable,” with far-reaching implications for global peace and security, described the strike as a dangerous escalation in the already fragile security situation in the Middle East.
In a statement released and signed by MPAC’s Executive Chairman, Disu Kamor, It warned that the U.S. attack mirrors previous military interventions based on questionable intelligence, including the wars in Iraq and Libya.
“This latest violation of international law, carried out under the guise of diplomacy, reflects a familiar pattern of reckless U.S. military adventurism, often orchestrated with the backing of the Israeli regime,” MPAC stated.
The group accused both the United States and Israel of sustaining a decades-long campaign of misinformation against Iran’s nuclear programme, despite numerous reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirming Tehran’s compliance and lack of pursuit of nuclear weapons.
MPAC emphasized Iran’s sovereign right to defend itself against foreign aggression and backed its right to respond. However, the group also called for restraint from all sides, advocating for peaceful, diplomatic solutions over further military escalation.

According to the statement, the U.S. strike may also be a strategic distraction from what MPAC referred to as “the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” where Israeli forces continue to bomb civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and refugee camps — actions the group says are carried out with impunity and supported by Western governments.
MPAC further criticized sections of the Nigerian media for what it described as the uncritical dissemination of unverified and biased reports in the wake of Israel’s earlier attacks on Iran. The group cautioned that such reporting could inflame tensions and reinforce pro-war narratives.
“The people of the region deserve better than a future shaped by manufactured threats and imperial aggression,” MPAC said, calling on the global community and civil society to resist the growing push toward conflict and reaffirm their commitment to peace, justice, and human dignity.
The organization reaffirmed its solidarity with the Iranian people and all victims of military aggression, pledging continued resistance to “imperial violence, state terrorism, and media complicity.”
