The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates affected by the earlier technical glitch.

According to a statement issued Sunday morning by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the resit was conducted to accommodate candidates whose initial exams were disrupted due to server issues.

The board revealed that out of 336,845 candidates slated for the resit, 21,082 failed to appear for the examination.

“Of the 336,845 who were eventually scheduled after isolated good sessions of the affected centres were excluded and their previously unverified candidates were added, 21,082 were absent,” the statement read in part.

JAMB had originally released the results of the 2025 UTME on May 9. However, on May 14, the Registrar of the board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, announced that results for 379,997 candidates across 157 centres, primarily in Lagos and the South-East were compromised due to technical failures.

In a deeply emotional press briefing, Professor Oloyede tearfully apologized for the unprecedented error, attributing the issue to faulty server updates which disrupted the upload of candidate responses during the first three days of the exam.

He assured the public that all affected candidates would be given the opportunity to retake the test under improved conditions.

The resit examination has now been concluded, and candidates can check their updated results on the official JAMB portal: www.jamb.gov.ng.
