The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, in a significant move to ease fuel costs for Nigerians.

The new price now ranges between N875 and N905 per litre, depending on the location, marking a uniform N15 cut per litre across all regions.

The revised pricing structure was confirmed in an official announcement posted on the refinery’s verified social media platforms on Thursday. It applies to all major partner retail outlets, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.

New Pump Prices by Region: Lagos – N875; South-West – N885; North-West & North-Central – N895; South-East & South-South – N905; North-East – N905

Previously, Lagos residents paid N890 per litre while motorists in the North-East and South-South paid as high as N920.

This latest adjustment, according to Dangote Refinery, follows the return of a refund benefit policy rolled out earlier in the week and is enabled by the company’s naira-for-crude exchange deal, which has helped drive down refining and distribution costs.

“Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the refinery stated, while urging consumers to purchase only from authorized partner outlets. Nigerians have also been encouraged to report non-compliant stations via its hotlines: +234 707 470 2099 or +234 707 470 2100.

The price cut comes amid renewed activity in fuel importation. According to a recent Tanker Position Report obtained from Blue Sea Maritime, over 496.17 million litres of petrol were imported into the country between May 11 and 20, 2025, with 370,000 metric tonnes discharged at various depots nationwide.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Group reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining affordable and stable fuel prices, despite global crude price volatility.

“This strategic reduction and our consistency in price cuts reflect Dangote Refinery’s unwavering commitment to support the Nigerian economy and lessen the burden on consumers,” the statement read.
