Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette’s house was reportedly burgled while playing in his last match before retirement.
The French forward was playing in his 391st and ultimate game for Lyon as he prepares to retire following the current season.
However, it is said that his final match was marred by the alleged break-in, which reportedly took place on Saturday night.
French source Le Progres indicated that two intruders broke into his home and accessed a safe.
Among the possessions claimed to have been stolen were jewelry, high-end leather items, and cash, with the total amount believed to be worth tens of thousands of pounds.
The break-in was reported at 1.30 am on Sunday, after two suspects were captured on security footage, prompting local law enforcement to start an investigation.
Lacazette was playing for Lyon against Angers in Ligue 1.

This incident comes after Lyon’s manager Paulo Fonseca confirmed earlier in the week that Lacazette would be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer.
The club icon received recognition from supporters before the match.
Lacazette shone as he scored both goals, securing a 2-0 victory over Angers. This brought his total to over 200 goals for Lyon, where he developed as a youth player.
This reported break-in is part of a troubling trend, as Lyon players have faced similar incidents in recent years, including Georges Mikautadze being robbed at gunpoint last December.
