Enyimba International FC has extended its congratulations to sister club, Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia, for securing a continental spot in the current Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Abia Warriors triumphed over El-Kanemi Warriors with a score of 2-1 at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday, thereby securing their position in the 2025/2026 CAF Confederation Cup.

Nwankwo Kanu, the club’s chairman, conveyed this message in a statement made in Aba on Monday, encouraging Abia Warriors to make a significant impact in the CAF competition.

Kanu also commended Abia Warriors Chairman, John Obuh, for his impressive progress within just two years in his role.

“As the chairman of our sister club and a partner in development, I celebrate your remarkable achievements,” he stated.

Abia Warriors secured their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup place in a thrilling round of match day 37 of the NPFL action with a stunning 2-1 comeback victory over El-Kanemi Warriors.

Despite falling behind to Mukhtar Ismail’s strike just before halftime, the “Umu Chineke Boys” displayed remarkable resilience. Adejoh Ojonugwa leveled the score in the 54th minute with a powerful shot, before Emmanuel Ogbuagu’s towering 70th-minute header sparked jubilant scenes in Umuahia.
