The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a review of its service fee charges, and has vowed to penalize defaulters.

This declaration follows a 10-year span during which pricing remained unchanged, prompting a thorough evaluation to ensure its services are in sync with public needs.

In a statement released by Head, Corporate Communications Unit of the NIMC, Kayode Adegoke,
on May 1, 2025, the commission disclosed that the updated pricing framework is designed to uphold the quality and credibility of NIMC’s services, while still being affordable and accessible for all Nigerians.

Additionally, the NIMC said that the new pricing will be implemented right away with no deferment.

The NIMC cautioned all front-end partners to conform strictly to the recent modifications, asserting that those who do not comply with the approved rates will face penalties, including the potential revocation of their licenses.

The statement emphasized the commission’s dedication to safeguarding the interests of Nigerians and ensuring that services are offered at just and clear prices.

“The updated pricing details will be made available on NIMC’s official site – www.nimc.gov.ng, where it will be open to all Nigerians and relevant stakeholders,” the commission said.

Also, the statement reiterated the NIMC’s promise to offer secure and dependable identity services to eligible Nigerians.

It urged citizens to report any front-end partner charging above the sanctioned fees to the inspectorate and enforcement unit via ieu@nimc.gov.ng or by calling 08155015388.

In the meantime, the NIMC Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has extended her gratitude to Nigerians, sister institutions, and all partners for their unwavering support.

She also conveyed her appreciation to President Tinubu, the minister of the management, and staff of the NIMC for their significant contributions in establishing a robust and enduring national identity system.
