President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Remo Stars Football Club for winning the title of the 2024–2025 Nigerian Premier Football League.
In a statement released on Monday by his spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the president referred to the team’s success as a significant accomplishment that beams the spotlight on both Ikenne and Ogun State.
Tinubu remarked that this landmark victory, occurring just four years post their ascent to the top division, showcases the diligence, discipline, and unwavering spirit of the athletes, coaching staff, and management.
The president praised the squad’s determination and grit, especially after facing three previous near-failures in their pursuit of the league championship.

He shared his hope that their unwavering resolve would motivate other football clubs in Nigeria to chase their dreams with determination and positivity.
Tinubu also commended the foresight and dedication of the club’s proprietor and Chairman, Kunle Soname, highlighting his contributions to youth football, which include the development of a modern stadium in Ikenne.
“As the champions of Nigeria, Remo Stars will now compete in the CAF Champions League. President Tinubu encourages the squad to maintain their resilient attitude and determination as they step onto the international platform,” the statement stated.
He also appealed to football supporters throughout Nigeria to unite in their support of Remo Stars as they bear the country’s aspirations in African contests.
