The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 148 suspects involved in various crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery, culpable homicide, and rape, in what authorities describe as a sweeping crackdown to enhance security in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the arrests and recoveries are part of a broader effort initiated by the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, following directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The enhanced operations, according to the statement, led to the recovery of 11 AK-47 rifles, 20 locally fabricated assault rifles, 110 live rounds of ammunition, 2 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 3 stolen vehicles, and disclosed additional items.

The police also confirmed the successful rescue of six kidnapped victims, in coordination with other security agencies. Notably, two IEDs planted by Boko Haram in Hong Local Government Area were safely detonated.
Elated by the development, the commissioner praised the efforts of the officers involved and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across Adamawa State.
The recovered vehicles, as announced by the command, have been returned to their rightful owners, while the suspects are being processed for prosecution.
