Majority Leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, Sunday, poured encomium on the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko for his commitment and vision of working for the good of his people.

The House leader gave the commendation at the reception held in celebration of the 50th birth anniversary of Hon. Ukodhiko in Abuja, where he said, the Isoko people have done Nigeria a great service with his coming to the Federal House of Representatives.

In his words; “the celebrant, Hon. Ukodhiko is a man of vision, commitment and chronically loyal. For a first term member in the House of Representatives to have the respect, acknowledgement and confidence of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, then you know he is doing very well.

“Me being here today is not because I regard Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko as my son. But, it is also because I see him as one of those that will take our country, Nigeria to a much better place.

“But then, let me specially thank the Isoko nation for voting and giving us Hon. Ukodhiko particularly represents a special breed of a legislative category that we look up to.

“Yes, Isoko has done Nigeria a great service by bringing Ukodhiko to the House of Representatives. He came in with experience, vision, commitment, with the zeal to work for his people.

“I know more than 20 conversations I had with Hon Ukodhiko. And I always listen very carefully when he’s talking. It is always “my people, my people…” I would ask him, o boy , what about others. He would say they are important, God will bless them. But my people first. They sent me here.

“He has the capacity to relate directly with the leadership. Number two is, he has the capacity to deliver without the resources of the House of Representatives. I want to urge your prayers for Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko should continue. Your support for Hon. Ukodhiko should also continue.

“Whether I remain in the House of Representatives or not, my continued support for Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko will be 100 percent. Like I told you earlier, there are very few that came at his age. Not for what he has achieved but for what he’s going to do not only for the Isoko nation but for Nigeria.

Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko is a man who gives hope and direction to the people. Hon. Ukodhiko is part of those who will build the new, progressive, stable and competitive Nigeria that will serve the interests of the people.

“I must say, Hon. Ukodhiko does not have much from the National Assembly but what he has done so far is amazing. When you encourage him he will do more, and we will gently tap him, say take and go do more for your people of Isoko.” Prof. Ihonvbere added.
