The Adamawa State Police Command has tightened security across the state capital, Yola, in preparation for the visit of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Egbetokun is scheduled to arrive in Yola, on March 27, 2025, to commission the newly completed ultra-modern police headquarters complex.

To ensure a smooth and secure event, the state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has directed the deputy commissioner of police in- charge of operations, along with supervising area commanders of Yola and Karewa, to oversee security deployment at key locations where the police chief, dignitaries, and other guests will be hosted.

Security personnel have been strategically positioned at major locations, including Lamido Aliyu International Airport, the road leading to the Government House, and the Lamido’s palace.

According to the command’s spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, the commanding officer of the 14 PMF will lead armed officers from various tactical teams, including the special protection unit and counter-terrorism unit, to monitor all entry and exit points.

Traffic control officers, led by the officer in- charge of the Central Motor Traffic Division, according to him, will be stationed to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

Additionally, the anti-bomb squad and crowd control personnel have been deployed to secure designated venues and respond to potential threats.

The state police command also urged the public to cooperate with security officials and report any suspicious activities to the authorities via the emergency numbers: 08089671313, 08032718516, and 08031153243.
