The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Barr. Nyesom Wike has officially revoked the Right of Occupancy for Plot No. 243 within the Central Area (A00 District) of Abuja, previously allocated to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat.
In a notice issued on March 13, 2025, and signed by Chijioke Nwankwoeze, Director of Land Administration, the revocation was attributed to the PDP’s failure to pay annual ground rents for two decades, from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025. This prolonged non-compliance directly violated the conditions of the land allocation under the Land Use Act.
According to the statement, the FCT Administration had repeatedly reminded allottees since 2023 through national dailies and electronic media to settle outstanding bills and ground rents. Despite these warnings, the PDP Secretariat continued to default on its financial obligations, leading to the government’s decision to repossess the land.

Citing Section 28, Subsection 5(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act, the notice confirmed that the property had reverted to the FCT ADMINISTRATION, which would take immediate possession.
This development comes under the leadership of the Minister who has been implementing strict enforcement measures on land administration and revenue collection in Abuja. The revocation marks a significant move in the FCTA’s ongoing crackdown on defaulters who fail to comply with land regulations.
