A 14-year-old girl has been reportedly defiled by her stepfather, and his friend at Okokomaiko in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the case involves two suspects, the victim’s stepfather, Samuel Alfred (32), and his friend, Obi Ikechukwu, aged 21.
The case, which was initially reported at the Okokomaiko Police Division, was transferred to the gender unit of the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that the complainant, a 30-year-old woman who reported the incident on behalf of her daughter, the disclosed that the stepfather allegedly, began sexually assaulting the victim when she was just 11- years- old.
He said the abuse reportedly continued, culminating in the girl becoming pregnant in October 2024.
The woman added that the second suspect, Obi Ikechukwu, allegedly had sexual intercourse with the pregnant minor under the pretext that the act would ease childbirth.
The two suspects, Hundeyin said were arraigned in Court 9, Ogba, and they are remanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, while the case file duplicated, and sent for DPP’s legal advice.
