Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo people, has pledged its support for the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Delta State.
The group made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Senator Emmanuel Edesiri Aguariavwodo, in Asaba, on Friday, assuring of its commitment to fostering unity, peace, and progress in the state.
Leader of the Ohanaeze delegation, Chief Benjamin Igumbor in his remarks, lauded Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive governance style, describing it as a model for fostering harmony among all ethnic groups in Delta State.
He stressed that the Igbo community remains dedicated to the success of the administration and will continue to contribute to the state’s socio-economic growth.
“We recognize and appreciate Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, which prioritizes inclusivity and economic prosperity for all. The Igbo community stands firmly in support of his vision for a better Delta State,” Chief Igumbor stated.

In response, Senator Aguariavwodo, accompanied by key political aides, commended Ohanaeze Ndigbo for its show of solidarity and contributions to the state’s development.
He highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s prudent financial management, noting that he is the only governor in Nigeria who has not borrowed funds since assuming office—a remarkable feat that earned him the ThisDay/Arise Governor of the Year award.
The Senior Political Adviser reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering inclusiveness and economic empowerment for all residents of Delta State, regardless of ethnicity.
