The Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE) have risen to the support of the Nigeria Super Eagles player, Kelechi Nwakali, to fault Huesca’s disciplinary actions against him despite providing a doctor’s report to corroborate his claims.
Nwakali was suspended indefinitely and stopped from coming to the training ground over his late arrival to the club after the recent Africa Cup of Nations ended.
However, Nwakali, who claimed he fell sick during the AFCON tournament and was unable to feature in Nigeria’s final game against Tunisia, said he worked according to the doctor’s advice which restricted him from travelling until he was confirmed medically sound.
AFE affirmed that the player notified Huesca about the development and should not warrant this harsh resolve to put the player out of action.

According to the union’s claim, Huesca which is being discriminatory have no moral ground to suspend Nwakali noting that their actions constitute gross misconduct.
According to reports, Huesca and Nwakali have been having a running battle since January over the player’s refusal to sign a new contract with the club which as a retaliatory step, Huesca are hellbent to get him off their record.
The Super Eagle, a product of Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria, joined Huesca from Arsenal in 2019 and has since made 33 appearances for the club while also playing for Alcoron on loan in the process.
