The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC )will soon add anti explosive operational vehicles to its fleet in other to withstand the current security challenges in the Northern parts of the Country and other high risk zone in the Nation were terrorists are having field day.
The proposal to get new sophisticated fleet which will soon be sent to the Presidency followed the ugly incident that occurred in Niger State on Monday where multiple explosion rocked one of the regular operational vehicles of Civil Defense in the State Command killing four personnel instantly while only the Driver sustained high degree of injuries and is currently battling for his life in the hospital.
A top source at NSCDC office told The Trumpet today that the agency will definitely acquire the Anti explosive fleet if Federal government gave urgent approval so they can be at the par with other Military counterpart who also in the forefront of the ongoing fight against Terrorism in the Country . The source noted that the Civil Defence have been mandated to join forces with the Military to crack down on the insurgents. Adding, that new tactics are needed to combat the menace as the fight are changing trend as the days go by.

The explosion which occurred along Galadinma Kogo axis in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State killed the. Four operatives attached to Shiroro Hydro Power. They were on routine patrol with their regular patrol Hilux vehicle which drove into a buried land Mine resulting in the explosion killing four of the Officers instantly.
The Director Public Relations NSCDC National headquarters Abuja DCC Odumosu Olusola gave the names of the late Officers as ASC1 Mohammed Ibrahim, ASC11 Cheche Ahmed, IC Yunusa Mahman ,CA1 Bala Abdullahi and then Driver was identified as Inspector Bala Adamu now in critical condition in undisclosed hospital .
The Commandant General of the agency Ahmed Abubakar Audi had since commiserate with the Families of the deceased.
