UAE president to visit Nigeria, says Presidency

President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has accepted an invitation from President Bola Tinubu to visit Nigeria later this year.

This announcement was made in a press statement released today, by the Special Adviser on Strategy and Information to the president, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu extended the invitation during bilateral talks with UAE leader on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.

Earlier on Wednesday, Tinubu presented Nigeria’s stance on climate change and other pressing challenges and congratulated the UAE leader on the successful event.

During their discussions, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for accepting the invitation and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.

The leaders also discussed strategies to attract investment into Nigeria. President Tinubu highlighted that his government’s economic reforms are yielding positive results, encouraging the UAE to partner with Nigeria for further economic development.

He noted that these reforms have stabilized and grown the economy, enticing foreign investors, including international oil companies, to announce billion-dollar investments, signaling renewed confidence in doing business with Nigeria.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the warm reception he and his aides received since their arrival over the weekend.

He was accompanied to the summit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
