The General Superintendent of the Assembly of God Church, Rev. Paul Emeka, has urged Nigerians to walk in the path of righteousness and acknowledge God in all they do to gain genuine prosperity.

Emeka, represented by Rev. Emmanuel Ngene, District Superintendent of Assembly of God Church, gave the admonition on Monday, while dedicating a church edifice donated by a Ghana-based businessman, Chief Chukwuemeka Nnaji, in Ubahu community in Nkanu East Local Government Area in Enugu State.

The multi-million naira church edifice was built and donated to the church by Chief Nnaji, who is the immediate past president of the Nigerian Union of Traders of Ghana.

The general superintendent noted that God Almighty is interested in the prosperity and well-being of those that put their trust in Him.

He said “God blesses without adding any sorrow attached, but you must be committed and have something you are doing for Him to advance His name on earth.

“Are you standing for righteousness and righteous living? Are you giving to the less privileged? Are you encouraging people to do good deeds? All these support God’s work and the way God wants this earth to work.

“Nobody ever works for God genuinely in righteousness and truth; that our great God will forget, but surely bless and uplift.”

Chief Nnaji said that he was motivated to embark on the church project to show appreciation to God Almighty for guiding his life through the Holy Bible to learn how to do business, live a focused and disciplined lifestyle.

According to him, the direction of the Holy Spirit, teachings of pastors and counsel of genuine Christian friends had also influenced my life.

“Today, God is showing me, my family, the Assembly of God Church and entire Ubahu Christian community grace to expand the kingdom of God here.

“I have tasted and found out that the word of God is truth, it is applicable and do-able with clear results coming as returns,” he said.

Chief Nnaji, who disclosed that the church project took him five years to complete, said that the edifice and other Christian yearly programmes – ‘Ubahu for Christ’ – would lead to greater freedom of Christian worship in the community.
