The Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, Vincent Osilonya, has imposed a dusk to dawn in Aboh Town, after a violent clash between rival factions left one person dead and three others injured last weekend.
The curfew will take effect from 7:00 pm. to 6:00 am daily to prevent a further escalation of violence.
Osilonya imposing the curfew, called for calm, urging the factions to refrain from taking the law into their hands while efforts are made to mediate the dispute.
The conflict, which stemmed from disagreements over the conferment of a chieftaincy title, escalated into the use of deadly weapons resulting in the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident as the community mourns the loss of the dead victim and grapples with the aftermath of the violence.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said the deceased succumbed to injuries sustained during the violence at the hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.
He explained that the violence began when the chieftaincy title recipient, accompanied by hunters as escorts, performed a traditional procession through the community.

Tensions rose upon encountering members of an opposing faction, leading to the outbreak of the violence.
However, a source in the community disclosed that those opposed to the concernment of title attempted to stop the procession, sparking a confrontation that devolved into chaos.
“In the process, shooting started; one person died and three other persons sustained various degree of injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment”, the source who craved anonymity said.
