President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated three distinguished individuals to fill vacant positions on the board of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), reinforcing the agency’s mission to uphold ethical standards in Nigeria’s public service.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the move is described as a significant step toward enhancing oversight and integrity in governance. The official announcement was conveyed in a formal letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The three nominees include; Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle (Oyo State), Kennedy Ikpeme(Cross River State) and Justice Ibrahim Buba, a retired Federal High Court judge.

According to the statement, the nominees bring diverse expertise and a commitment to transparency, aligning with the Bureau’s mandate to combat corruption and promote accountability across all tiers of government.
Established in 1979, the Code of Conduct Bureau is a vital institution in Nigeria’s fight against corruption. Its 10-member board is responsible for ensuring that public officials comply with ethical standards and disclose their assets transparently.
President Tinubu’s latest nominations come shortly after the swearing-in of the board’s chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, on October 23, 2024.
