The Delta State Executive Council has appointed renowned legal scholar and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Prof. Epiphany Azinge, as the Asagba of Asaba in Oshimili South Local Government Area.
It also confirmed Dr. Greg Oputa as the Obi of Aboh in Ndokwa East Local Government Area.
Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, who disclosed this, said both appointments were part of resolutions reached by the council.
Prof. Azinge’s selection as the new traditional ruler has been widely celebrated, with the Asaba community expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to their cultural heritage.
The new Asagba of Asaba, whose career spans the academia and public service, is expected to bring his expertise and dedication to his role as a monarch, furthering development in Asaba and upholding the values of the kingdom.

Also Dr. Oputa’s appointment is anticipated to finally lay to rest the kingship struggle and protests that have greeted his installation about two months ago.
Similarly, the council approved various infrastructure projects across the state, including the construction of an access road to the Nigerian Maritime University in Okerenkoko in Warri South-West Local Government Area, underscoring the state’s commitment to connecting riverine communities with larger economic hubs.
