Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno has announced N80,000 as the new minimum wage for civil servants in the state.
Eno also constituted a 15 man new wage bill implementation Committee headed by the Head of Civil Elder Effiong Essien.
According to the Commissioner for Information Comrade Ini Ememobong, the implementation committee has one month to deliver its report for the wage increase in the state.

Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance.

Other members of the committee include: Permanent Secretary, Department of Establishments, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning, Permanent Secretary/Solicitor General, Ministry of Justice,
Permanent Secretary/Accountant General, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission and Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service among others
Last week, Eno had assured workers that the new minimum wage will be implemented as his gesture to reflect sincere commitment to improving welfare of workers in the state.
