Amnesty International has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu following the unlawful invasion of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) office by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
On Monday, SERAP raised alarm via their X (formerly Twitter) account, reporting that DSS officers had taken over their Abuja office, sparking widespread concern over the incident.

Amnesty International condemned the raid, alleging that President Tinubu’s administration is exceeding limits in its attempts to suppress dissenting voices. In a post on X, the organization stated, “Amnesty International received a disturbing report of the unlawful invasion of the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project by DSS operatives. President Bola Tinubu is going too far in his government’s repressive efforts to silence dissenting voices.”
SERAP has called on President Tinubu to immediately direct the DSS to cease the harassment, intimidation, and attacks against Nigerians’ rights. The organization emphasized that these actions undermine democratic principles and infringe on freedom of expression.
