The leading aspirant for the Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State chairmanship seat, Comrade Paris Blessed Ubara, has consulted the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council area, Odio Godspower Obaro on his intention to vie for the position in the forthcoming council polls in the State
Speaking during the consultation visit, Ubara who is the convener of Youth O’clock Movement said “I decided today that I must come to inform you that I am in the race to contest for the local government council chairman.
‘I am from Oleh ward 1, unit 8 is where I vote. I am pleading with you sir to open the door for me to consult the entire LGA executives as soon as possible to inform them about my intention.”
He added, “It is time for a vibrant youth and a home base to become the Local Government Council chairman, I am in this race with more than 2000 obedient movement members who already made up their minds to decamp from the Labour Party (LP) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)”.
He noted that the political situation in Isoko South Local Government Area at the moment is beyond just anybody to handpick a candidate as the flag bearer of the party. He said they have so many followers in all the wards in Isoko South Local Government Area.
He also downplayed the news peddling around that Oleh doesn’t need the local government council chairman but the local government area PDP party chairman.
According to him, “No meeting of such was held nor the decision of such was taken in Oleh ward 1 and 2 of the party. And nobody has made such zoning arrangements in Oleh. The People’s Democratic Party constitution did not prevent anyone from contesting for the local government council chairman, this time around we will all go to the field and vote for the most popular candidate.

On his part, the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Isoko South Local Government Area, Odio Godspower Obaro thanked Comrade Paris Blessed Ubara for his courage to chest out for the Isoko South chairmanship race. “I have heard of you, you have worked for the party faithfully. I have seen today that people are following you, with the little you have, you have been remembering them. These are the kind of people we need in position”.
According to him, “the PDP party constitution does not prevent you from contesting for the race, but there is an internal arrangement on ground which is not known to law before now that after Sir Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo tenure, Isoko South constituency 2 will produce the chairman for two tenure.
He noted that the internal zoning arrangement cannot bar any aspirant from contesting for the chairmanship because the party constitution did not have anything like an internal or zoning arrangement.
“I don’t have the right to stop you from contesting, I am only telling you what is on ground, but if you are strong enough, you can navigate your way, I pray God will give you, what your heart desires”.
