A group under the aegis of Ukanafun Professionals’ Association (UK-PRO) has urged President Bola Tinubu to order the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate the sudden disappearance of All Progressives Congress (APC ) Youth Leader in Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district Mr Ubokobong Udoworen.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General of the group Mr Nsikak Ekanem and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Saturday, the group alleged that the APC youth leader was mobbed at Ati Annang Secretariat in Ikot Ekpene, the headquarters of the senatorial district last week.
The statement reads in parts:
“Our delay in coming up with our position on the barbaric incident has to do with our expectation that appropriate authorities were on top of the situation.
“From our findings from relevant persons, including relatives of the victim, nothing is seen to be done on the matter, just as the whereabouts and state of Ubokobong Udoworen have not been known for more than a week now.”
Ekanem disclosed that the APC youth leader was attacked by more than 10 youths at Ati Annang Secretariat when he demanded to know the whereabouts of bags of rice sent by Senate President Godswill Akpabio but diverted to an unknown destination.
“We are reliably informed that his attack was as a result of his public condemnation in the social media on the alleged diversion of money and food items meant for APC youths of the Ikot Ekpene senatorial district.
” He vowed to report the incident to the Senate President at APC meeting on the same day and venue that he was attacked by people said to be his fellow party men ”
He said the missing APC leader was a strong supporter of the Senate president Godswill Akpabio adding the victim did nothing wrong by choosing to stand with Akpabio just like any other person.
“Ubokobong Udoworen cannot, in whatever measure, be said to have done anything wrong for always queueing behind Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“The UK-PRO also has impeccable knowledge that Ubokobong Udoworen has the integrity of cherishing and promoting fairness, equity and truth at any given time and place even at great personal cost.”
The Professional group fingered the Special Assistant to the Senate president on youth matters Mr Emmanuel Amama of leading the attack as the party chieftain can not be found till date.

“The principal suspect whom the victim accused before he was whisked away is Mr Emmanuel Amama, the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Youth Matters as other party stalwarts, were present at the scene.
“The act of lynching anyone by fellow humans remains despicable, and it offers a bleak future in this particular instance in that the crime is carried out by youths warming up to become leaders. ”
The UK-PRO is not just condemning such inhumane behaviour, but we are calling on governmental authorities to give attention of urgent necessity in unravelling the crime and make the culprits face the full wrath of the law. More importantly, the UK-PRO is of the view that the state of life and whereabouts of Ubokobong Udoworen should be made known to the public.
The group therefore urged President Bola Tinubu to order the Inspector General of Police to engage other sister security agencies to search for the missing party youth leader.
“Given that the crime occurred in broad daylight, where many who can give eye-witnesses accounts are not far-fetched, and the video clips of the incidents abound in the public, it is believed that the process of arriving at successful investigation of the criminal act is just a matter of willingness and sincerity to do the rightful on the part of authorities saddled with such responsibilities,” he said.
