The people of Delta South Senatorial District have been called upon to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda for quick transformation of the district.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Chief Anthony Ofoni, made the call at a meeting with President Generals of Communities in Delta South Senatorial District at the Isoko Development Union (IDU) Secretariat, Oleh Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.
Addressing the President Generals on the theme of the advocacy, “Empowering Communities For Sustainable Development” ” he stressed the importance of fostering community involvement in the decision-making process as well as promoting initiatives that contribute to the long-term development of communities.
He said the Governor directed him to interact with President Generals across the state on the importance of peacebuilding and overall development of the grassroots.
Chief Ofoni added “Community Development plays a fundamental role in shaping the future of our society. It is through collective efforts and effective advocacy that we can address various challenges and create opportunities for growth and prosperity”.
According to him, ” The real intention of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is to ensure that there was no gap between him and the people through the M.O.R.E Agenda.”
He urged the President Generals to use their positions to contribute positively to their localities as their ideas and actions must promote peaceful coexistence, intertribal harmony, and religious tolerance among dwellers in various communities while they engage Government for the provision of social amenities.
He also enjoined the President Generals to synergize with his office in bringing government closer to every community across the state.

Meanwhile, The President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU) Professor Chris Akpotu and others who spoke commended the Governor for his people friendly policies and assured him of their support in promoting and advancing the the M.O.R.E Agenda.
They praised the Special Adviser for the advocacy visit affirming that it allowed them to get a clearer view of the mission statement of the Governor Oborevwori-led administration.
The President Generals however pleaded with the Government to involve them in project conceptualization, monitoring and execution, saying, that they were committed to ensuring that projects cited in their areas were protected from vandals.
