Apex Igbo Socio-cultural Organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has alleged that a faction of Ohanaeze saboteurs collected a whopping $300,000 US Dollars on behalf of Obigbo massacre for the mass burial and compensation of the victims.
Ohanaeze also added that another $100,000 US Dollars was collected From the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike by Mr Alex Ogbonnia who parades himself as Ohanaeze spokesman to sabotage the Presidential Candidate of Labour party (LP), Mr Peter Obi in the just concluded February 25, general election.
The mainstream of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro stated this in a statement he made available to newsmen on Friday.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo wishes to alert Ndigbo and the entire world that some Ohanaeze saboteurs led by one Mr Alex Ogbonnia, who parades himself as Ohanaeze spokesman has collected the hefty sum of $300,000 from the Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike for the mass burial and compensation of the victims of the Obigbo massacre who lost their lives during the military onslaught against Ndigbo in Obigbo, Rivers State under the guise of tracking down Biafran agitators in 2020”.

According to the statement, other saboteurs including Mr Kingsley Chidozie, Emeka Ogwu, Eziechi Chukwu, Fred Eze, Lucky Ezeji, Okey Nwankwo, Prince Nwandu, among others were quartered in Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt for two days before meeting Wike on Thursday.
The statement equally stated that the saboteurs collected $100,000 from Wike to sabotage the efforts of the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi to recover his mandate by claiming that the election result should be accepted in good faith, having been announced.
“Their deal with Wike includes laundering his image among Ndigbo, to get Igbos in Rivers to support his Governorship candidate, Simi Fubara.
“Ndigbo feel presently embittered by Wike’s role in sabotaging Peter Obi’s electoral victory in Rivers State.
While calling on Biafra agitators and families of the Obigbo Massacre victims should meet the earlier mentioned characters to retrieve the money they collected on their behalf.
