The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Bayelsa West Senatorial District Election, Hon Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha (WAD) has headed up to the Appellate Court to set aside the New Year’s Day High Court Verdict in Yenagoa that removed him as the APC standard bearer for the Bayelsa West Senatorial election over irregularities in uploading the primary results by the electoral umpire.
WAD stated this in a press briefing in Sagbama town while fielding questions from journalists on his next line of action. He assured his constituents to remain calm as he is sure to be on the final ballot on election day having confidence that the Appellate Court will do the needful in setting aside the verdict of the Yenagoa High Court.
Hon. Dauyegha who is the incumbent Deputy Minority Leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Representing Ekeremor Constituency(2) called on the people of Bayelsa West district to remain resolute to maintain the zoning arrangement for Ekeremor to take its turn at the red Chambers in the next Senate while Sagbama will take the House Representatives slot.
The lawmaker who has been championing the cause for his constituency and district through robust laws and motions at the House of Assembly is full of confidence that the people are resolute in their resolve to vote out the incumbent Senator Seriake Dickson due to his antics of dishonour for not abiding by the existing zoning agreement which is capable of causing unrest in the district if not stemmed.

Dauyegha stated that he has firm hope in the sanctity of the court as the hope of the common man to do justice to the current situation as he is confident that he shall be on the final ballot and that the people of Sagbama-Ekeremor shall thumb their votes in his favour come February 25th 2023 for the Bayelsa West Senatorial poll.
“My lawyers have filed for a stay of execution of the judgement and to appeal the high court verdict on my candidacy as the APC Senatorial flag bearer. We are confident it will end well in my favour considering the fact that it was on similar grounds that the election of other party candidates were upheld and mine cannot be different.
“Without dabbling into the intricacies of the case in court, I assure my constituents of Sagbama-Ekeremor to remain calm and law-abiding with the resolve that justice shall be done on the matter and the people shall do the needful through their votes to show Dickson the way back to his village in next month’s election. No antics of intimidation shall stop my candidacy as Dickson is already in panic mode knowing that the people’s votes shall count in my favour which is why he is resorting to other avenues to get me out of the Senatorial race. But it won’t work as my mandate is divine and it shall come to pass regardless!” WAD stated categorically.
